Your power problem is our starting point

Every business experiences power differently.

Commercial and industrial power solutions

Power problems rarely arrive as a single fault. They show up as downtime, damaged equipment, rising costs and decisions made without data. These are the challenges we are called in to solve.

  • Unreliable grid supply
  • Production downtime
  • Voltage instability
  • Harmonics and poor power quality
  • High peak demand
  • Rising energy costs
  • Critical equipment needing uninterrupted power
  • Inadequate backup generation
  • Increasing demand for renewable energy
  • Need for battery storage
  • EV charging requirements
  • No visibility over distributed energy assets

One integrated solution, not a list of equipment.

KPS brings the technical expertise, equipment, project coordination and monitoring capability required to solve these problems as one integrated solution.

From power problem to power solution

Measure. Diagnose. Design. Implement. Monitor. Optimise.

KPS can become involved at any stage — from an initial power-quality investigation to a complete energy-infrastructure project.

01

Understand

We start with your operation, your critical loads and the commercial impact of power interruptions.

02

Measure

Professional instruments record real electrical data at your site over a representative period.

03

Diagnose

We identify patterns, disturbances, inefficiencies and risks — and what is actually causing them.

04

Design

An engineering and commercial solution sized to the measured load, not to assumptions.

05

Implement

We supply and coordinate the appropriate equipment, installation and commissioning.

06

Monitor

Systems are connected so performance, alarms and consumption stay visible from anywhere.

07

Optimise

We verify performance, refine settings and identify the next opportunity as your business changes.

08

Verify

We measure the system again and confirm it performs as designed before we call it complete.

Every stage produces evidence. That is why our recommendations hold up in front of a CFO, a facilities manager and an electrical engineer at the same time.

Power quality

Before you buy equipment, understand the problem.

KPS uses professional power-quality measurement and analysis to understand how electricity actually behaves at your site. We measure before we recommend.

Why KPS

A power-solutions partner, not a product reseller.

Six principles that shape how we work with every customer.

Solution-led

We start with the customer's power problem rather than a particular product.

Measurement-first

We use data to understand the electrical environment before recommending major investments.

Technology-agnostic

We select technology according to the application rather than forcing every customer into the same solution.

Integrated

Generation, critical power, storage, renewable energy and monitoring can be designed as one system.

Monitored

We believe customers should be able to see how their power infrastructure is performing.

Long-term

Our relationship does not end when equipment is installed.

About us

Integrated architectures

One architecture, built around your site.

Equipment alone does not solve a power problem. KPS combines generation, storage, critical power and monitoring into coordinated architectures — each one designed for a specific operational risk, and each one measurable.

Engineers reviewing power infrastructure in a data centre plant room

Five integrated architectures

Start from the risk, not the equipment list.

Each architecture below answers a different question about your site. We select the technology to fit it — not the other way around.

01

Business Continuity

Keep operating when the grid does not. The core architecture for sites where an interruption stops revenue, service delivery or production.

GridGeneratorATSUPS
  • Standby generation sized to your real critical load
  • Automatic transfer between grid and generator
  • Uninterruptible power for loads that cannot ride through a transfer
  • Monitoring of grid availability, runtime and fuel
Discuss business continuity

02

Energy Resilience

Reduce dependence on a single supply. Generation, solar and storage work together so no one source carries the whole site.

GridSolarBatteryGenerator
  • Hybrid supply combining grid, solar, battery and generator
  • Battery storage for backup and daily load shifting
  • Power conversion and inverter selection
  • Coordinated control so sources hand over cleanly
Discuss energy resilience

03

Critical Facility

For facilities where even a short disturbance is unacceptable — data, healthcare, cold chain, process control and communications.

UPSGeneratorBatteryMonitoring
  • UPS design and sizing for critical loads
  • Redundant generation and automatic transfer
  • Battery storage covering longer outages
  • Continuous monitoring with alarms and reporting
Discuss critical facility power

04

Energy Optimisation

Turn measured consumption into lower cost. Solar and storage are dispatched against real demand data, not assumptions.

SolarBatteryEnergy monitoring
  • Peak-demand management and load shifting
  • Solar generation matched to your load profile
  • Power-factor and tariff-penalty reduction
  • Ongoing reporting so savings can be verified
Discuss energy optimisation

05

Connected Site

One visible energy system across the whole property — generation, storage, EV charging and consumption reporting in a single view.

GenerationStorageEV chargingMonitoring
  • AC and DC charging infrastructure for staff, fleets and visitors
  • Load management so charging does not overload the site
  • Consumption monitoring, alerts and reporting
  • Charging-site electrical assessment before installation
Discuss a connected site

Not sure which one fits?

Most sites need a combination. We start with a power-quality assessment, measure how electricity actually behaves on your installation, and let the data decide the architecture.

Request an assessment

How we build an architecture

Measure first. Then design the system.

An architecture is only as good as the data behind it. Before we recommend a generator, a battery or a UPS, we record how your installation behaves under real load — voltage, harmonics, demand peaks, generator loading and the behaviour of your critical circuits.

That evidence sets the size, the sequence and the controls. It also gives your facilities manager, your engineer and your finance team the same picture, so the investment can be justified and later verified.

  • Measured load and disturbance data at your site
  • Equipment selected to the measurement, not to a rule of thumb
  • One coordinated design across generation, storage and critical power
  • Commissioning, monitoring and optimisation after handover
Talk to an engineer

Where these architectures are used

Different sites, different priorities.

The same five architectures are applied differently depending on what the site cannot afford to lose.

Manufacturing & processing

Production lines, process control and materials handling. Continuity and power quality matter more than energy cost — a single disturbance can scrap a batch or damage a drive.

Commercial buildings & retail

Tenants, lifts, security and point-of-sale. Energy optimisation and connected-site visibility reduce running cost while keeping essential services live.

Data, telecoms & healthcare

Loads that cannot tolerate any interruption. Critical facility architecture with UPS, redundant generation and continuous monitoring.

Mining & remote operations

Sites with weak or absent grid supply. Energy resilience architecture combining generation, storage and solar to keep operations running.

Agriculture & cold chain

Irrigation, pumping and refrigeration. Backup and storage protect product value when supply is unreliable.

Fleets & logistics

Depots and distribution centres moving to electric vehicles. Connected-site architecture with managed charging and consumption reporting.

Tell us what your site cannot afford to lose.

We will tell you which architecture fits, what it involves and what it would take to measure your installation first.

Measurement-first assessment

Power quality is a measurement, not a guess.

Nuisance tripping, overheating, drive faults and premature equipment failure rarely announce their cause. We connect analysers to your installation, record how electricity actually behaves under real load, and let the evidence define the problem before anyone recommends a fix.

Why measurement comes first

The symptom is rarely the cause.

A drive that trips once a week, a transformer that runs hot, a neutral that carries more current than it should — each points to something upstream. Replacing the equipment that fails treats the symptom and leaves the cause in place.

Measurement removes the guesswork. We record voltage, current, harmonics, transients and demand over a full working cycle, including the start-ups, shift changes and switching events that a spot reading never catches. What the data shows decides what gets designed.

  • No recommendation until the installation has been measured
  • Recording across a full production or trading cycle, not a snapshot
  • Findings your engineer, facilities team and finance team can all read

What the analysis identifies

Six things the data will tell you.

Every assessment is read against the same set of questions. Not all of them will apply to your site — the ones that do will explain the behaviour you have been living with.

Voltage variation

Sags, swells and sustained deviation from nominal — the disturbances behind contactor chatter, drive trips and control faults.

Harmonic distortion

Distortion introduced by drives, rectifiers, LED lighting and IT loads, and its effect on transformers, neutrals and cabling.

Power factor & reactive demand

How much of your supply is doing useful work, and what the reactive component is costing you in capacity and penalties.

Demand & load profile

When peaks occur, how long they last and which circuits create them — the basis for sizing storage, generation or load shifting.

Transients & switching events

Short, high-energy events from switching, capacitor banks or lightning that damage electronics without leaving an obvious trace.

Supply reliability & outages

How often the grid fails, how long it stays down and how your existing backup behaves when it is called on.

The six-step process

From first visit to verified result.

A structured assessment, run the same way every time, so the outcome is comparable and the investment can be justified.

  1. 01

    Site survey & scoping

We walk the installation with your team, review drawings and single-line diagrams, and agree which boards and circuits matter most.

  2. 02

    Instrument installation

Analysers are connected at the main intake and critical distribution points, with current transformers fitted safely and without interrupting operations.

  3. 03

    Measurement period

Recording runs across a representative cycle — typically one to four weeks — capturing start-ups, shift changes, peak demand and any disturbance events.

  4. 04

    Data analysis

Recorded data is processed and read against recognised limits, with events correlated to the operational problems you reported.

  5. 05

    Findings & recommendations

You receive a written report: what was measured, what it means, the likely causes, and the practical remedies ranked by impact and cost.

  6. 06

    Implementation & verification

Where you proceed, we design and deliver the remedy — and re-measure afterwards so the improvement is proven, not assumed.

Assessment CTA

Start with a measurement, not a quotation.

Tell us what your installation is doing — the trips, the heat, the failures, the bills — and we will scope an assessment that answers it. You get the data, the analysis and a clear recommendation, whether or not you buy anything from us.

  • On-site measurement by qualified engineers
  • Written report with findings and ranked remedies
  • Findings that feed directly into your wider power architecture

Monitoring as a Service

Your site, watched continuously.

Most power failures give warning long before they happen — a rising temperature, a battery that no longer holds, a generator that starts slower than it should. KPS Monitoring as a Service keeps instruments on your installation and engineers on the data, so you hear about a problem while it is still a trend rather than an outage.

Monitoring as a Service

You own the outcome. We own the kit.

Monitoring only works if it is still running in year three. Instead of selling you instruments and leaving you to maintain them, we supply the hardware, the connectivity, the platform and the engineering support as one ongoing service.

That means no capital project to justify, no software to update and no data sitting unread on a server. We install the equipment, commission it against your installation, and keep it accurate — recalibrating, replacing and expanding as your site changes.

  • Hardware, installation and commissioning included
  • Connectivity, platform access and data storage managed for you
  • Alarm triage, reporting and periodic review by our engineers
  • Scales with the site — add circuits, generators or chargers as you grow

What is monitored

Everything that decides whether your site stays up.

We instrument the assets that carry the risk — supply, generation, storage, critical power and the loads that matter most — and record them continuously, not on a monthly walk-round.

Supply & power quality

Voltage, current, frequency, harmonics, power factor and demand at your main intake and critical boards — the same measurements an assessment produces, but continuous.

Grid availability & outages

When supply is lost, how long it stays down and how often it happens — the record that shows whether resilience is improving or quietly eroding.

Generators

Run status, start success, load carried, running hours, fuel level and coolant temperature — so a generator that fails to start is discovered on a test, not on an outage.

Batteries & storage

State of charge, charge and discharge cycles, cell temperature and capacity fade — the early indicators that a battery bank is no longer delivering what it was sized for.

UPS & critical power

Input and output voltage, load percentage, battery health and bypass events on the equipment protecting loads that cannot tolerate an interruption.

Consumption & solar

Energy used by circuit, time-of-use demand, solar generation and self-consumption — the figures that turn an energy bill into something you can act on.

The dashboard

One view of the whole installation.

Every monitored point lands in a single dashboard you can open on a laptop or a phone. Live status at the top, trends underneath, and the history behind both — so a facilities manager can see the site at a glance and an engineer can go straight to the detail.

You decide who sees what. Your team gets the operational view; we hold the engineering view alongside it, so when something needs attention there is already a record of what changed and when.

  • Live status of supply, generation, storage and critical power
  • Trends and history, not just the reading in front of you
  • Alarm log with acknowledgement, so nothing is missed or repeated
  • Scheduled reports for management, finance and compliance

From alert to optimisation

An alarm is only useful if it leads somewhere.

Monitoring is not a screen you are left to interpret. Each stage below hands the next one something concrete — a signal, a diagnosis, a decision, a measured result.

  1. 01

    Alert

A threshold is crossed — a generator start fails, a battery temperature climbs, a neutral current rises. The alarm reaches the right people within minutes, with the point, the value and the time attached.

  2. 02

    Diagnose

Our engineers read the alarm against the surrounding trend and history. Most alerts are explained by the data itself; the rest become a site visit or a targeted measurement.

  3. 03

    Act

You get a clear recommendation — a service, a setting change, a part to replace or a design change — with the evidence behind it and the risk of doing nothing.

  4. 04

    Verify

Once the work is done, the same instruments confirm it. The trend should change; if it does not, the problem was not where we thought and we keep looking.

  5. 05

    Optimise

With months of real data, we tune what you already own — dispatch of solar and storage, peak-demand management, generator test schedules, load shifting — and report the saving.

  6. 06

    Prove

Every optimisation is measured against the baseline it replaced, so the improvement is a number you can show, not a claim you have to take on trust.

Industries we serve

Nine sectors, one engineering approach.

Power problems look different in a mine, a hospital and a supermarket — but the method that solves them does not change. We measure the installation, design the architecture around the risk, and keep it monitored afterwards. Below is what that means sector by sector.

Industrial plant room with switchgear and power distribution equipment

The nine sectors

What each industry cannot afford to lose.

Every sector below carries a different consequence when the power fails. That consequence — not the equipment list — decides the architecture we recommend.

Manufacturing production floor with industrial machinery

01

Manufacturing & processing

Production lines, drives, process control and materials handling. A single voltage dip can trip a drive, scrap a batch or damage tooling — so continuity and power quality matter far more than the energy bill.

We measure the disturbance profile at your critical boards, then size generation, UPS and filtering to ride through what your process actually experiences.

  • Harmonic and dip analysis at motor control and drive panels
  • UPS and standby generation sized to the real critical load
  • Power-factor correction and tariff-penalty reduction
  • Monitoring of supply, generation and consumption by circuit
Discuss a manufacturing site

02

Mining & heavy industry

Remote sites, weak or absent grid supply, and loads that swing hard between shifts. Ventilation, dewatering and hoisting cannot stop, and diesel alone is expensive to run and hard to keep reliable.

We build hybrid supply — generation, storage and solar working together — and instrument it so fuel burn, runtime and load are visible rather than assumed.

  • Hybrid generation, battery storage and solar for off-grid sites
  • Generator sizing and load management across shift changes
  • Fuel, runtime and start-success monitoring on every set
  • Rugged installation and maintenance in remote conditions
Discuss a mining operation

03

Healthcare & hospitals

Theatres, ICU, imaging, cold storage for blood and vaccines, and lifts that must never trap anyone. There is no acceptable duration of outage, and no acceptable delay in transfer.

We design critical-facility power with redundant generation, UPS support and continuous monitoring, then test the sequence under load so the transfer is proven before it is needed.

  • UPS design and sizing for theatre, ICU and imaging loads
  • Redundant generation with proven automatic transfer
  • Battery storage covering extended grid outages
  • Alarms and reporting for facilities and compliance teams
Discuss a healthcare facility

04

Data centres & telecoms

Racks, cooling, network cores and tower sites. Loads are dense, continuous and intolerant of even a brief transfer — and a cooling failure can do as much damage as a power one.

We build N+1 critical power with UPS, redundant generation and environmental monitoring, so a single failure anywhere in the chain is absorbed rather than noticed.

  • Modular and N+1 UPS topologies for dense IT loads
  • Redundant generation, fuel management and load testing
  • Power and environmental monitoring with alarm escalation
  • Remote and unmanned tower sites on monitored supply

Commercial office buildings in a city skyline

05

Commercial buildings

Offices, banks, campuses and mixed-use developments. Lifts, security, servers and tenant services must stay live, while the landlord carries the energy cost and the tenant complaints.

We combine essential-power backup with consumption monitoring and optimisation, so running cost falls without essential services ever going dark.

  • Essential-power backup for lifts, security and comms rooms
  • Sub-metering by floor, tenant or system for cost recovery
  • Solar and storage to cut peak demand charges
  • EV charging for staff and visitors with load management

06

Agriculture & cold chain

Irrigation, pumping, packhouses and refrigeration. An outage during harvest or a cold-chain break does not just stop work — it destroys product that has already been paid for.

We size backup and storage around the loads that protect value, and monitor temperature-critical circuits so a failure is caught before the stock is lost.

  • Backup for irrigation, pumping and packhouse lines
  • Solar and storage to offset daytime pumping demand
  • Cold-store and refrigeration circuit monitoring
  • Alerts to your team when a critical circuit drops

07

Retail & supermarkets

Refrigeration, lighting, tills and point-of-sale. A short outage means spoiled stock and lost trade; a long one means a store that cannot open at all.

We protect the circuits that carry the risk, keep the trading floor lit through a transfer, and report consumption so energy cost per store is something you can manage.

  • Backup for refrigeration, tills and security systems
  • Solar and storage to cut daytime running cost
  • Multi-site consumption reporting in one dashboard
  • Refrigeration temperature and power alarms

08

Hospitality & leisure

Hotels, lodges, conference centres and clubs. Guests notice everything — a dark corridor, a cold kitchen, a lift that stops, a room without air conditioning.

We keep guest-facing services live through an outage and quiet about it, with backup sized to the real overnight and event loads rather than the whole property.

  • Backup for lifts, kitchens, cold rooms and guest areas
  • Silent, low-emission generation for occupied properties
  • Solar and storage to reduce peak-tariff running cost
  • EV charging for guest and fleet vehicles
Discuss a hospitality property

09

Logistics & fleets

Depots, distribution centres and transport fleets moving to electric vehicles. Charging adds a large, controllable load to a site that already has tight capacity and a peak-demand charge.

We assess the site's electrical headroom first, then design managed charging, storage and generation so the fleet charges without overloading the supply.

  • Charging-site electrical assessment before installation
  • AC and DC charging for depot, fleet and staff vehicles
  • Load management and storage to avoid peak-demand penalties
  • Backup for cold storage, security and depot systems
